Although travel can lead to greater understanding among people of different cultures and contribute to economic development, it is undeniable that it also takes a heavy toll on the environment and puts a strain on resources in host countries. CCI’s Greenheart Initiative sponsors travel programs that help protect the environment, build stronger communities and increase awareness of global environmental issues.

Casita Verde is a working farm in Ibiza, Spain that demonstrates sustainable ecological development. Travel Offset Donation (PDF)
Air travel is a significant producer of the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. When you participate in a CCI program, you can help offset the effects of your air travel on the environment by making a $20 donation to Trees for the Future. Trees for the Future is a non-profit organization that has planted millions of trees in environmentally degraded areas around the world since 1988. |
