Volunteer
in Ibiza, Spain (18+)
CCI’s volunteer program in Ibiza is ideal for
adult participants who have an active interest in
ecology and are committed to protecting the environment.
The island of Ibiza is well known for its idyllic
natural beauty and endless sunshine, drawing crowds
of tourists to its Mediterranean beaches every summer.
However, the island is also home to a community of
dedicated activists who are concerned about the environmental
damage heavy tourism effects on Ibiza. Volunteers
from around the world join them in working to protect
this beautiful island and promote awareness of environmental
issues.
Location
Ibiza is a short flight from Madrid or Barcelona.
Volunteers work on a model ecological center called
La Casita Verde in one of the most beautiful areas
of the island. A working farm created to demonstrate
sustainable ecological development, it is powered
by wind and sun energy and recycles all the water
used by residents and its many visitors. The center
supports Greenheart projects in ecological research
as well as volunteer efforts such as beach cleaning
and environmental education programs.
Accommodation
Modest, rustic housing on site and 3 vegetarian meals
daily are provided.
Sample Projects
- Maintaining and improving the farm facilities
- Installing alternative energy systems
- Promoting environmental awareness among visitors
