Activities in the U.S.

High School Students & Host Families

Through CCI's Greenheart High School Programs, international exchange students currently enrolled in CCI's Academic Year High School program have the opportunity to get involved in environmental projects in their communities.

University Students

Through CCI’s Work & Travel program, CCI matches "green" employers with international students seeking seasonal work with environmentally responsible businesses.

For 17-25 year olds

CCI's Environmental Group programs bring together young adults from around the world to learn about critical issues affecting our environment while enjoying the beauty and culture of the greater Seattle area in Washington State.

CCI’s Offices

At CCI, we continually strive to minimize the organization’s environmental impact. All of CCI’s promotional materials are printed on recycled paper using soy-based inks. Employees are encouraged to use public transportation or to bike to work.  We have begun the process of greening our office space.

Greenheart Shop

CCI is proud to open the Greenheart Shop. The Greenheart Shop offers unique products that are respectful of the earth and beneficial to the people who make them. The shop is located at CCI's National Office Headquarters, 746 N. LaSalle Drive, Chicago, IL.

Activities Abroad

Eco-voluntourism

Help make a difference on the international level. CCI's Greenheart Programs Abroad provide the opportunity to learn about environmental issues affecting other countries and lend a hand to local residents who are working to find solutions. CCI volunteers work on worthwhile conservation and humanitarian projects in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Minimize Your Travel Impact

At CCI, we continually seek to minimize our impact on the environment. Yet our organization promotes international travel, and we know that air travel is a major contributor to climate change.  So CCI now offers our participants the option of making a Travel Offset Donation (PDF).

When you book a travel program through CCI, you have the option of making a $20 donation to Trees for the Future, a non-profit organization that has planted millions of trees in environmentally degraded areas around the world since 1988. The work that Trees for the Future does with your support will help to counterbalance the negative effects of your air travel on the environment.

What is Greenheart

The Greenheart Initiative is a global movement that represents the evolution of a natural, human and ecological consciousness.  Projects and activities are supported primarily by funding by the non-profit organization Fundación por el Futuro (Foundation for the Future) founded in Spain by Emanuel Kuntzelman and Laura Rose in 1995. Greenheart projects and activities include world-wide student exchanges, the study group Ibiza Ecologic, the model ecological center at Casita Verde in Ibiza, the Greenheart Music company, the Greenheart Guide to Ibiza and Formentera and the Permaculture movement in Ibiza.
